A number of concerns have been raised about a planned new wind farm in East Clare.
EDF Renewables recently announced plans to develop the Lakareagh Wind Farm, which will consist of up to seven turbines in the townlands of Killeagy and Shannaknock and could power up to 35,000 homes.

The company says it intends to submit a planning application, together with an Environmental Imapact Assessment Report to Clare County Council early next year.
It’s the third proposed windfarm in that catchment area and Bodyke Fine Gael Councillor Joe Cooney, who’s held a meeting with the company in recent days, says some locals will be in favour and some won’t.
