Clare’s Independent TD is expressing concern that the voluntary exit packages being offered to post offices amounts to a compulsory marching order.
Dr Michael Harty has hit out at the government for what he describes as a lack of a firm commitment on the future of Ireland’s network of post offices.

An Post has offered voluntary redundancies to 14 postmasters and postmistresses in Clare, among several nationally.
Communications Minister Denis Naughten has insisted that the government’s €30 million investment in the network last year is proof of their commitment but Dr Harty isn’t pleased:
