Concerns have emerged over the continued use of asbestos water piping in the Kilrush area.

It's one of a number of water issues in Cooraclare being highlighted by Councillor Ian Lynch, who believes that burst water pipes are causing ongoing problems for people living there.
He says that a large section of piping on the bog road is made from asbestos, with support for new piping being undermined each time there's a breakage.
Irish Water is investigating reports of a current breakage which locals say has led to dicolouration in the water supply, but Councillor Lynch insists that the entire water infrastructure in the area needs to be replaced.
