Deep concern’s been expressed about reports that Dublin Airport Authority may be seeking redundancies at Shannon Airport.
Media reports had claimed that a voluntary redundancy scheme was explored at a recent DAA board meeting, and that 150 jobs are set to go at Shannon, Cork and Dublin.
However, in a statement to Clare FM, a DAA spokesperson said it would be inappropriate to comment on any discussions that ‘may or may not have taken place’, as such matters are confidential.
Fianna Fail Transport spokesman and Clare TD Timmy Dooley says the DAA should not consider the plan at all, given that it may not be running Shannon Airport in the near future
