The Garda Representative Association says it's concerned that recent protests, particularly in north Dublin, are threatening the personal safety of Gardaí.

It follows demonstrations outside the Garda station in Coolock earlier this week, where protestors said Gardaí were being too aggressive in dealing with demonstrators.

It's reported that one meter installation company, GMC Sierra, has now suspended its works in Dublin as it can't guarantee the safety of its workers.
