Concern over lack of Syrian humanitarian support

Four years into the Syrian conflict humanitarian assistance is failing to reach the millions of people trapped and a massive increase in medical assistance is urgently required.

That's according to Médecins Sans Frontières who say that it is unacceptable that humanitarian assistance is so limited when the death toll has reached unbearable levels.

From the estimated 2,500 doctors who worked in Aleppo, Syria's second biggest city, fewer than 100 now remain. 

MSF has also been forced to reduce its activities inside Syria following the abduction of five staff members by Islamic State last year.

Jane-Ann McKenna, Director of Médecins Sans Frontières, says things are bleak on the ground as the conflict enters it's fifth year
