Concern has been expressed about low levels of funding that has been set aside for discretionary projects throughout the county next year.

193 thousand euro has been allocated to the four municipal districts here, and divided up on basis of population, meaning 56,700 euro is to be spent in West Clare along with 54,500 in Ennis.
44,000 is allocated for Shannon, while less than 38 thousand euro goes to the East of the county.
The funding levels are unchanged from last year, but a number of Councillors have expressed concern that the effect of the funding will be limited.
