A former Chair of the HSE’s Regional Health Forum West says long-term waits for hospital appointments in the MidWest remains a serious concern.
Figures from the National Treatment Purchase Fund show that at the end of January there were over 355 fewer people awaiting appointments at University Hospital Limerick than the previous month.
There was also a drop of 70 at Ennis General – though the numbers waiting over 18 months remain high.
The UL Hospitals Group says significant growth in demand and an increase in urgent referrals are among the reasons for this.
