Concern Expressed About ‘Duplication’ On Clare Council Housing Lists

Concern is being expressed that some individuals and families may have their names on Clare County Council’s housing list more than once.

A meeting of Ennis Municipal District Councillors has heard that 3,000 people are awaiting social housing in this county – more than half of them in the county town.

The local authority says a recent amendment to the Social Housing Assessment Regulations is providing them with greater data in approving applications.

However, Fianna Fail councillor Pat Daly wants the knowledge of local representatives to be used to ensure duplication across housing lists isn’t happening.
