The Clare Chair of the IFA says it’s a worrying time to be in farming.
It comes as Teagasc’s annual report shows that farm incomes overall have dipped by some 15% over the past year, after what’s been a difficult 12 months for the sector.

The fodder crisis at the beginning of this year, followed by the drought conditions over the summer, left many in dire straits.
Dairy farmers were particularly badly hit, seeing a 22% drop in incomes as well as a 50% rise in feed costs.
