An Ennis auctioneer has argued that Ireland’s rental system is now “completely broken.”
It comes as latest figures from Daft.ie have revealed that rents in Clare have risen by some 11% in the past year, to an average of €870 per month.

Those looking to rent a three-bed house can expect to pay around €800, a four-bed costs in the region of €875 while one-bed apartments are fetching just over €600 per month.
However, Douglas Hurley of DNG O’Sullivan Hurley has been telling Clare FM’s James Mulhall that the real averages are much higher than this; and something needs to change.
