Community Response Hubs To Remain Open For Extended Period As Storm Éowyn Fallout Continues Into Second Week

Clare County Council has confirmed its community response hubs will remain open for the duration of the humanitarian fallout of Storm Éowyn as people across Clare enter their ninth day without electricity.

Five community response hubs were established in the worst affected areas of the county amid extended fallout and unprecedented damage following Storm Éowyn.

The ESB confirmed that some customers in Clare would remain without power until the middle of next week, while 1,300 properties were in the dark coming into the weekend.

Director of Rural Development, Corporate and Cultural Services at Clare County Council, Ann Reynolds, says the hub in Cross, mainly used as a remote working site has been stood down, however, all locations with a need for the service remain open.
