A community fundraiser has been set up to raise funds for a former Clarecastle councillor, who lost generations of memories, when his home went up on fire over christmas.

On December 27th, Bernard “Bomber” Hanrahan was awakened to the blaze by his dog Daisy and managed to escape before the flames reached his bedroom.

The community near his home in Barntick have come together to create a GoFundMe page entitled ‘United for Bomber Daisy’, with the aim to raise 30,000 euro to bridge a shortfall in insurance cover.
