Strong winds and high tides may have led to millions of euro of damage in a large number of areas, but groups of people have been rolling up their sleeves in an effort to get life back to normal.

600 bags of rubbish were collected from Lahinch beach yesterday, a group of residents have come together in Quilty for a clean-up along the coastline, while in Kilbaha 30 people gathered for an unorganised event to remove seaweed and rocks from a key access road.
