The level of commercial vacancies in some of Clare’s main towns is among the highest in Ireland.
New figures from GeoDirectory show nearly a quarter of commercial properties in Kilrush are vacant, the highest rate of any town in Munster, and that Shannon’s rate of 23% is the second highest in the province.

Meanwhile, Ennis, and the county as a whole, both have higher vacancy rates than the national average, and the figures in all of those areas have increased in the past year.
