It gives a good idea of the amount of construction activity due to be carried out in a particular area over the next number of months.
The 339 such orders issued in this county in 2022 was an 18 percent fall on 2021’s number of 414.
It’s an even greater fall from the figure of 447 issued locally in 2019.
Last year’s figures would suggest residential construction activity in this county, at least in the short to medium term, will be at its lowest level since 2017.
Just under 60 percent of the orders given to Clare County Council last year were for one off builds.
