Father of two Colm Deely denies murdering the guest house worker at a place unknown in Clare between 11pm on March 27, 2011 and noon the following day.
The trial before Mr Justice Barry White has heard from witnesses who relayed Ms McCarthy’s last known movements before her body was discovered on Fanore Beach several days after she disappeared.
Other issues raised included concerns the 43 year old had about working while claiming social welfare and whether or not she was romantically linked with the accused.
