Cold Snap ‘Too Much To Handle’ For West Clare Homeless Population

A West Clare Sinn Féin representative believes the current cold snap is too much for the homeless people in the area to handle.

Subzero temperatures this week have brought a fresh focus on the plight of those in the county without a permanent roof over their head – the latest Department of Housing figures show there are 80 homeless adults in Clare alone.

Violet-Anne Wynne is calling on the local authority to use the vacant buildings lying idle in Kilrush as temporary accommodation for those in the west of the county during the worst of the weather.
