Oregan-based Democrat Peter DeFazio has written to the European Commission in an attempt to block the proposed flights by Irish-based Norweigan Air.
Congressman DeFazio claims Ireland is being used to sidestep labour laws and hire low-paid crew under Asian contracts – a claim the airline has refuted.
MEP Deirdre Clune has also hit back at Congressman's comments, claiming Norweigan Air will be subject to the same rules and regulations as every other company operating in Ireland.
