The Irish Examiner reports that Noreen Keane and her sone Ronan met with James Reilly after he attended an event at Mallow General Hospital, and that the Minister spoke with them for 20 minutes.

Eight-year old Ronan, who has Down Syndrome and a number of associated medical conditions, lost his medical card around a year ago, and his mother says that long-term illness and GP cards don't cover a range of treatments for him.

The young boy reportedly spoke directly with Minister Reilly, asking him directly for the return of a full medical card.
