A bridge near Miltown Malbay is to remain closed following a second inspection.
Clonboney Bridge, which is on the N67, was weakened during flooding last weekend and a partial inspection yesterday revealed structural damage at the base of one of the arches.
Water levels remain too high to carry out a complete assessment of the bridge but Clare County Council will continue to monitor the structure on a daily basis.
