Residents of a West Clare community who are seeking coastal protection works to minimise the risk of flooding in their homes says they're pleased, after holding talks with government.

Members of the Clohaninchy Action Committee travelled to Leinster House yesterday for a meeting with Minister Simon Harris.
Around a dozen homes were flooded there in last year's winter storms, but locals are now hopeful the OPW will fund construction works after a feasibility study is completed.
