Management at the Cliffs of Moher have hailed the new seven wonders campaign as a great marketing success for local tourism, despite not making the final cut.
The global online competition to find the world’s new seven wonders of nature came to an end last night with Clare’s World famous tourist attraction unsuccessful in its bid to make the prestigious list.
Based on first count results – the provisional new seven wonders of nature are as follows:
Amazon, Halong Bay, Iquaza Falls, Jeju Island, Puerto Prince SA Underground River, Table Mountain.
The voting calculation is now being checked, validated and independently verified, and the confirmed winners will be announced starting early 2012 during the Official Inauguration ceremonies.
Cliffs of Moher Director Katherine Webster says Ireland had a challenge in securing votes due to the population size of our competitiors, but she feels the marketing campaign has been good for local tourism
