Clarity Sought On Efforts To Bring Large Employer To Clare

Clarity is being sought on the steps being taken to attract a large employer to Clare.

Clare County Council has invited the Industrial Development Agency and Enterprise Ireland to give a presentation to elected members on its efforts to create employment opportunities in the county.

It follows a motion put forward by Sinn Féin Councillor Tommy Guilfoyle at this month’s meeting of the local authority expressing concern around the loss of Roche in Clarecastle along with the scaling-down of Moneypoint Power Station.

Councillor Guilfoyle believes the county is crying out for a job-creator of a similar size.
