The people of Ennis will be bellowing in praise of the concertina this weekend as a popular festival takes hold of the town.
Consairtín 2025 began on Thursday night and features lectures, recitals and workshops based around the instrument synonymous with the music of Clare.
The Gala Concert of the festival takes place in glór at 8pm tonight and features NOTIFY along with the Irish Concertina Orchestra and Music Generation Concert Orchestra as well as the likes of Mícheál Ó
Raghallaigh, Ann Kirrane and Garry Ó Briain.
Crusheen resident and festival organiser Tim Collins says Clare is “blessed” with its tradition of concertina playing.
