County Clare’s oldest resident has passed away at the age of 106.
Loretto Garvey of Ballyortla, Ennis was born in Scarriff in 1905 and later moved to Clonmoney near Bunratty before she married and moved to the Ennis area.

She spent her final years in he care of staff at Carrigoran Nursing Home where she passed away last night.
The late Mrs. Garvey, nee Melody, was predeceased by her husband James Garvey and is survived by her two sons, as well as 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
She’ll be laid to rest in Doora on Thursday.
