Clare’s newest Councillor insists that steps must be taken to protect small businesses in our town.

Postmaster Tom O’Callaghan was chosen by fellow Fianna Fáil members at a selection convention in Hotel Woodstock in Ennis last evening, securing 48 of the 93 votes cast.

The Kildysart native, who’s based in Clarecastle, will replace former Ennis Municipal District Councillor Mark Nestor, who resigned his seat in September to begin training for the priesthood.
