Clare’s motor industry recorded the largest drop in trade of any county in Ireland last year.

The Society of the Irish Motor Industry has revealed that 500 fewer cars were sold in the Banner County in 2012, when compared with the previous twelve months.
A total of 1576 new vehicles were registered here, though this figure is less than 40% of levels recorded just five years previously.
Around 80,000 new cars were sold in Ireland last year, with falls were recorded in each county.
