Two of Clare’s leading cultural lights are among five newly-announced Cultural Ambassadors for Ireland.
World-renowned fiddler from Feakle, Martin Hayes, and Lisdoonvarna-born architect Shelley McNamara, will now promote Ireland globally as part of the Government’s Global Ireland 2025.

It aims to double Ireland’s footprint globally, though a mix of actions in the cultural, diplomatic, business, education and tourism areas.
Martin Hayes and Shelley McNamara will be joined Ms McNamara’s Grafton Architects colleague Yvonne Farrell, as well as award-winning actress Ruth Negga and Pulitzer Prize winning poet Paul Muldoon as Cultural Ambassadors.
