There's been a broad welcome for new figures showing that Clare's live register numbers are continuing to fall.
Ennis saw the biggest drop last month, while a landmark was breached in West Clare.
A total of 59 people left Clare's dole queues last month, with the number of people now signing on standing at 6928.
That represents an annual drop of over 12.5%.
West Clare has hit a milestone – the number signing on there has fallen to 996, which is the first time the figure has been below 1,000 since late 2008.
While some say emigration has continued to play a part in this fall, Spanish Point Fianna Fáil Councillor Michael Hillery believes tourism in the area has been booming.
There were also falls in other parts of the county last month – down by 11 in North Clare and by 4 in East Clare, with the totals in both areas standing just over 1,000.
Ennis saw a fall of 15 to 3851.
Fine Gael Councillor Mary Howard believes there's been a noticeable pick-up in the county town.
