Clare's live register fell slightly last month.
However, while there was some good news in Ennis, dole queues did increase elsewhere
There are now 6,266 people signing on the live register here in Clare.
This is 17 less than at the end of September, and 1,066 less than at the same point last year.
However, as the tourist season comes to an end, the number of people claiming some form of unemployment benefit actually increased in areas of Clare outside of Ennis.
There was an increase of 13 in North Clare, and 5 in both the East and West of the County.
This is offset by a drop of 40 in the greater Ennis area.
Dole queues here have shrunk by 14.54 per cent in the past year, which is at a slower rate than in Cork and Limerick, but faster than elsewhere in Munster and in Galway.
