Clare’s Live Register Fall Again

Clare's live register has fallen again.

The number of people claiming some form of unemployment assistance dropped in August for the first time in three months.

A total of 154 people left Clare's dole queues in August, with the numbers signing on now at 7,923.

Drops were recorded in all parts of the county, with the biggest of 79 coming in Ennis.

This was followed by a fall of 30 in East Clare, 27 in North Clare and 18 in the west of the county.

There are now nearly 700 fewer people in Clare's dole queues than at the same point last year, an annual drop of 7.8%.
