Clare's Junior Minister has defended the Low Pay Commission, amid criticism of its recommendation that the minimum wage be increased by 10c per hour.

The group has advocated an increase of the minimum wage to 9.25, though the UNITE trade union has described this as "insulting".
Employers groups also say the increase is bad for business.
Minister of State in the Department of Jobs Pat Breen says the government has yet to make its own decision, based on these guidelines.
