Clare’s Green Party Senator is adamant a data centre will not be built in Ennis, despite receiving planning permission from Clare County Council.

A proposed €1.2 billion development by Art Data Centres for the Tulla Road was given the green light by the local authority this week.

The approval issued by the council is for the first phase of the development but doesn’t provide permission to connect to the electricity grid.

Inagh Green Senator Róisín Garvey has been telling Clare FM’s Rebecca O’Sullivan that the development won’t come to fruition.
