The visit was hosted by UL and the Clare County Council delegation that travelled to Kunming in May this year to sign formal agreements aimed at fostering the development of closer ties between the two areas.

The delegation was led by Professor Chen Shibo, Chairman of the University Administration Committee, and Chen Jing, Associate Professor and Deputy Director for International Exchange and Cooperation at Kunming University.

Following their visit to the University of Limerick, the Chinese delegation visited the Cliffs of Moher.

In May, a formal link was also established between the Burren and Cliffs of Moher Geopark and the Stone Forest Geopark in Yunnan Province.
