Clare’s Chief Superintendent says his force ‘won’t be found wanting’ if they’re called upon to deal with further violent incidents arising out of a traveller dispute in Ennis.
John Kerin has welcomed comments from Judge Gerald Keyes, who called for an end to feuding as he sentenced three members of an Ennis family to jail arising from a violent altercation at the Maid of Erin Roundabout last October.

Ennis Circuit Court had heard that one Garda feared for her life during the incident, and that another was used as a ‘human shield’ from a teenager wielding a hatchet.
Chief Superintendent Kerin says this is simply unacceptable.
