Clare’s Chief Fire Officer Urges People To Check Smoke Alarms Over The Holidays

Clare’s Chief Fire Officer is urging people to get a smoke alarm, saying it may save someone’s life.

The main causes of fire at this time of year are candles left unaccompanied, improperly wired fairy lights and Christmas trees falling over.

Clare’s County Fire Service says open fires without fireguards and decorations catching light are also a big concern.
