Clarecastle Skin Cancer Expert Warns About Dangers Of Sun Exposure

As the heatwave continues, a Clarecastle-based GP, who is an expert in skin cancer, is urging people to stay safe in the sun.

Figures from the Irish Cancer Society show that 11-thousand people in Ireland develop skin cancer every year, and that it’s the most common form of the disease.

Dr Colum Gavin of the Saffron and Blue Medical Centre in Clarecastle has trained in Australia in skin cancer care, and says we should all be following the ‘sun smart’ code.
