Work will commence on a number of long-awaited infrastructural projects in Clarecastle in the coming weeks.
Construction of a new footpath at the village shop is set to begin by the end of this month with the project to be completed within three weeks, while the completion of footpaths and installation of traffic calming measures at the Ballybeg junction on the Kildysart Road will take place between the week beginning January 27th and the end of March.
It’s also understood that works to widen the carriageway and implement traffic calming humps at St Joseph’s Terrace will get underway at the end of the summer and will be finished within four weeks of the start date.
Clarecastle Fine Gael Councillor Paul Murphy says the new footpath outside the shop will be of particular benefit to vulnerable road users.
