The family of a Clarecastle Christian Brother, accused of abuse in RTE’s Mission to Prey program, say they’re confident a review into the case will clear his name.
The late Brother Gerard Dillon was accused of abusing boys during his time as a teacher in South Africa, in the same Primetime investigates programme in which Fr Kevin Reynolds was defamed.
RTE have reviewed their evidence into the matter, with Director General Noel Curran saying he stands by the claims, but he’s told an Oireachtas Committee that the broadcaster will consider evidence from Brother Dillon’s family.
His grand niece Amanda Dillon feels it’s incumbent on the state broadcaster to prove that their accusations are correct
