Clare Young Fine Gael Calling For Action Regarding Student Accommodation

Clare Young Fine Gael is calling on the Government to step up its efforts to tackle the student accommodation crisis.

Figures show the average cost of renting for most students in Dublin, Cork and Galway varies between €1,000 and over €2,000, while there has been a 33% rise in student rents in Galway City in the past year alone.

The Government’s National Student Housing Strategy aims to deliver an additional 21,000 units of purpose built student accommodation by 2024.
