Clare Workers Affected By Carphone Warehouse Closure

Carphone Warehouse has closed its stores in Ireland including one here in Clare with immediate effect.

Around 400 jobs are being lost as a result of the decision, which the company says is due to a change in consumer habits.

Around 80 stores nationwide have closed immediately, including its Ennis store, while some staff will be kept on by the company over the next couple of days for operational reasons.

Carphone Warehouse had already closed its stores in the UK last year.
