A south-east Clare woman who’s hoping to raise money for her daughter’s cancer treatment says one of the most difficult parts of the ordeal is the feeling of powerlessness.
31-year-old Bridgetown native and mother-of-one Rachael Whitehead is undergoing radiotherapy, having been recently diagnosed with brain and spine cancer.

Her mother Louise and her partner Alan Kennedy have set up a GoFundMe page entitled ‘Princess Rachael’ to assist with the costs of treatment, and so far over €21,000 of the €25,000 goal has been raised.
Louise says aside from trying to help with the financial burden, all she feels she can do is be there for her daughter.
