A Clare woman says she is humbled and honoured to be nominated for the Volunteer Ireland Awards.
Shanelle Waring-Woods is a volunteer for Ennis Hockey Club and has been put forward in the sports and recreation category for her programme which enables people of all ages and abilities to play hockey in Clare.
She has also worked tirelessly to find a permanent home for the club, that currently has to rent pitches in Cork and Waterford to play its home games.
The award winners will be announced at an event in Dublin on Saturday and Shanelle says she was in disbelief, initially, at being nominated for the award.
