A Ballyvaughan woman is one of a group of survivors of Symphysiotomy taking Ireland to the United Nations Committee on Torture.
The group is calling on the UN to hold the government to account.
Ellen Moore underwent a Symphysiotomy at a hospital in the Midlands in 1965 – however she has yet to be given access to her medical records.

The procedure involved splitting a woman's pelvis or pubic bone in two – to allow for birthing – as a replacement for cesarean sections.
Ellen's had several operations since and now lives with a colostomy bag.
