An Ennis woman has spoken out about her daily battle to stay alive, in a bid to encourage others to give up smoking.

Christina Whelan is almost completely housebound and reliant on oxygen tanks throughout her home to cope with enphysema and Chronic Obsutructive Pulmonary Disease which she was diagnosed with after 35 years of smoking.
Though the 68 year old Ennis Grandmother gave up cigarettes 14 years ago, she says it was too late.
