A Clare veterinary nurse is pleading with people to consider removing their cattle grids to protect wildlife.
Hogsprickle Wildlife Rescue Centre in Broadford has responded to a recent flurry of calls across the county where animals – particularly hedgehogs – have become trapped in the grids.

Founder and manager of the centre, Bev Truss, says this is an annual problem due to the depth of the grates.
Bev is warning that cattle grids are condemning animals to a slow and painful death.
