The people of Clare have voted in favour of same sex marriage in line with trends across Ireland.

Local results have confirmed that 58.27 per cent of votes were in favour of changing the constitution to allow gay marriage while 41.73 per cent voted No.
The total number of Yes votes was 28,137 while 20,154 people voted against changing the constitution.
The official count for Clare was declared at Ennis Courthouse at around 5.30.
Voter turnout in Clare was 59.44%
