A Clare-born visual artist has been elected to Aosdána, the affiliation of creative artists in Ireland.
Ailbhe Ní Bhriain is among four new members elected at the organisation’s 44th General Assembly in Dublin.

Born in Clare in 1978, her work spans film, computer-generated imagery and installation.
The election brings Aosdána’s membership to 249, with the organisation recognising artists who have made an outstanding contribution to the creative arts in Ireland.
