The Clare Vintners Association has described new proposed drink driving limits as a knee jerk reaction.
Minister Shane Ross is expected to announce a reduction in the minimum allownace from 50 to 20 milligrams.
The annoucement comes on the back of a 34 per cent increase in arrests for suspicion of drink driving in December compared to the same month in the previous year.
